Memorial Services

Memorial Services are part of our commitment to the support bereaved local families who are grieving the loss of a loved one, every second month (February, April, June, August, October and December) we hold a memorial service in church. These take place on the first Sunday of these months, from 6:30-7:30pm.

The memorial service creates some restful sacred space where you can bring your memories and grief before God. A couple of hymns are sung, a word of encouragement and hope is given... but most importantly, you’ll find peace and space, and will have an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved one.

Lord Jesus Christ,

In this hour of darkness I come to you.

I confess I am numbed,

Confused,

Angered by this loss.

Sorrow and anxiety fill my life

And I seem to be robbed of finding rest.

You said you would comfort those who mourn;

So I come to you now in my distress.

I give you this heavy weight in my heart

And the feeling that I cannot carry on.

Draw close to me, Lord Jesus,

Stand by me in this hour,

And let me know your peace.
