During the Week

There are various groups and events that take place during the week for the church and the community. Here’s a list of those organised or hosted by St Paul’s:

SUNDAY

MONDAY

  • Boys Brigade, activities for boys of all ages, in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School); from 5:15pm for ages 5-6, 6:30pm for ages 8-11, 8:00pm for ages 11-18. For more information call David on 234381.

  • Monday Club, from 9:30pm in the Freemasons (the local pub on Clapgate Lane) – this is a regular time for men from the parish to meet, relax and share together. For more info, call Neil on 242984.

TUESDAY

  • Prayer meeting, 7:30-8:15am in the church. Read the Bible, wait on the Lord, stand in the gap for your community – a great way to start the day!

  • Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade, activities for girls, in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School); 6:30-8:00pm for ages 7-10, 7:00-8:30pm for ages 11-21; for more info call Pam on 716668.

  • Home group, 8:00-9:45pm in Poolstock. Worship, bible study, prayer and good company! Call Brian on 243265 

  • Mothers Union, 7:30-9:00pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School). Interesting talks and fellowship with a lively bunch of ladies!

WEDNESDAY

  • Worship in school, 9:10-9:40am in the hall in St Paul’s School. The whole school, along with parents and carers meet for a time of singing, fun and discovering God’s great love for us. Everyone welcome!

  • Prayer meeting, 9:30-10:30am in Noah’s Ark room in church.

  • Holy Communion service in church, 10:30-11:15am – structured yet relaxed, with plenty of space to reconnect with God through his Word, prayer and the sacrament. Meet at 10am for coffee and a chat.

  • Home group, 8:00-9:45pm in Goose Green. Worship, bible study, prayer and good company! Call Linda on 237333.

THURSDAY

  • Little Stars toddler group, 1:30-3:00pm in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School). Crafts, songs, stories and free play for toddlers – and a chance for a sit down with a cuppa and piece of toast for the parent/carer! Open to all, suggested contribution £1.

  • Afternoon home group, 1:30-3:00pm in Marus Bridge. Worship, bible study, prayer and good company! Call Ann or Arthur on 321977.

  • Zumba dance/exercise, 7:30-8:30pm in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School).

SATURDAY

  • Church maintenance team, 10:00-12:00 noon, meets at the church. Willing to give a hand in keeping the grounds and churchyard safe and tidy? Real community work alongside a friendly bunch of members of St Paul’s.

  • Greenwood Walk, 1:00-4:00pm, usually every six weeks. Led by our intrepid leaders Mike and Gillian, a group of all ages and abilities go exploring the local area and uncover some real gems of walks which are right on our doorstep.
