There are various groups and events that take place during the week for the church and the community. Here’s a list of those organised or hosted by St Paul’s:

SUNDAY

7UP Youth Discipleship Group, 6:00-7:30pm at the Vicarage

Young people aged 11-17 meet for food, friendship and to learn together about how to be a teenage disciple of Jesus today. Also includes socials such as McDonalds trips, days out and wild adventure weekends in the Lakes! For more info call Christiane on 01942 242984. 

MONDAY

Hawkley Home Group at the Vicarage, 8:00-9:30pm 

Grow your faith as you spend time with other Christians learning how to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Welcoming and informal, we support each other in friendship, pray for each other and learn more about the message of the bible. For more info, call Christiane on 01942 242984.

Choir & Music practice in the church, 7:30-8:30pm

The team responsible for music in church meet fortnightly to practise and learn new songs, ranging from traditional choral anthems to modern worship songs. If you have a passion for singing or can play an instrument, let Kathleen know on 01942 248683 - you'll be most welcome!

Monday Club, from 8pm in the Freemasons (the local pub on Clapgate Lane)

This is a regular time for men from the parish to meet, relax and share together. For more info, call Brian on 01942 200262.

TUESDAY

Friends Together Lunch Club11:45am-1:30pm 

Taking place in the church hall in the grounds of St Paul's CE Primary School, you are invited to come and socialise over a hearty meal. With entertainment, it's a great couple of hours. Booking is essential; to do so, simply call Linda Berry on 01942 452921. 

Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade, from 6:30pm

Creative activities for girls and boys in the church hall (in the grounds of St Paul's Primary School); 6.30-8.00pm for ages 7-10, 7.30-8.30 for ages 11-21. For more info call Pam on 01942 716668

Poolstock Home Group, 8:00-9:45pm.

Worship, bible study, prayer and good company. Call Brian on 243265.

Mothers Union, 7:30-9:00pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month

In the church hall in the grounds of St Paul’s CE Primary School. Interesting talks and fellowship with a lively bunch of ladies who are committed to doing real good in our community.

WEDNESDAY

Worship in school, 9:10-9:40am in the hall in St Paul’s School.

The whole school, along with parents and carers meet for a time of singing, fun and discovering God’s great love for us. Everyone welcome!

Prayer Meeting, 9:30-10:30am in Milkshakes room in church

Holy Communion Service in church, 10:30-11:15am

Structured yet relaxed, with plenty of space to reconnect with God through his Word, prayer and the sacrament. Meet at 10am for coffee and a chat.

Goose Green Home Group, 8:00-9:45pm

Worship, bible study, prayer and good company. Call Linda on 01942 237333.

'Explorer' Home Group7:30-9:00pm

Do you have questions about the bible or faith in general? If so, this is a great group to join - relaxed, non-judgemental, an opportunity to bring any question. For more info, call Mike on 01942 825670.

THURSDAY

Little Stars toddler group, 1:30-3:00pm in the church hall (in the school grounds)

Crafts, songs, stories and free play for toddlers – and a chance for a sit down with a cuppa and piece of toast for the parent/carer! Open to all, suggested contribution £1.

Afternoon Marus Bridge Home Group, 1:30-3:00pm

Worship, bible study, prayer and good company, and finishes in time for school pick-up. Call Ann or Arthur on 01942 321977.

Coffee Morning, 10:00am every 3rd Thursday of the month in the church hall

Come and enjoy refreshments and a chat, hosted by members of the Mothers Union.

SATURDAY

Church maintenance team, 10:00-12:00 noon, meets at the church.

Willing to give a hand in keeping the grounds and churchyard safe and tidy? Real community work alongside a friendly bunch of members of St Paul’s.
